Whilst in London last year at a conferencing event, we met a group of lovely ladies from Cancer Research UK who work side by side at Ronan Keatings, celebrity studded, Emerald & Ivy Charity Ball. Claire's Catering have a very close working relationship with Cancer Research UK and it holds a very dear place in our hearts, so when they asked us if there was anything we could donate as an auction prize we were really happy to be able to help out.
We partnered up with Pamflete Estate in South Devon who donated a long weekend stay at one of their luxurious properties - Pamflete House, sleeping 18 guests. The 18 strong Miller family, who won the fantastic weekend, were treated by Claire's Catering to an evening Canape's & Champagne on the lawn, a lavish main course and dessert finished with coffee's and petit fours all created by our Head Chef Matt Howe.
Travelling down from Yeovil took us around 2 hours and luckily our map skills were excellent and we didn't get lost once... The Miller family were incredibly hospitable and we set to work in the enormous kitchen - if only every site was as well equipped! On the menu we had:
- Crostini topped with : Oak Smoked Salmon & Black Pepper Cream Cheese, Dorset Blue Cheese & Caramelised Walnuts, Homemade Farmhouse Pate with Spiced Apple Chutney
- Mini Yorkshire Puddings with a Fresh Horseradish Cream
- Goats Cheese, Thyme & Caramelised Red Onion Tartlets
- Steamed Asparagus Tips with a Ramson & Lemon Creme Fraiche
Free Range Chicken Breast stuffed with Apricots, Onion & Thyme wrapped in Prosiutto.
Sweet Potato, Feta & Spinach Filo Parcel with a Rich Spiced Tomato Fondue
Steamed Carrots with Ramson & Orange Zest
Fine Green Bean Bundles
Rich Belgian Chocolate Torte with a Salted Caramel Sauce & Chantilly Cream
Meringue Nest with Fresh Strawberries & Minted Liqour
The night went without a hitch and the whole team had an absolute blast working in such a stunning place.
